After taking the champion's title in the Plymouth event last month, Plymouth College's U13 girls have taken the runners-up spot in the Devon Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Tournament at the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Devon Indoor Cricket Centre, Exeter University.
In their first match the girls beat Bideford College by 32 runs but just lost their second match to Tavistock College. However, they went through as group winners on runs. In the final rounds Plymouth College beat Uffcombe School by three runs, lost to a very strong South Dartmoor side and then beat Tavistock College by 20 runs.
Making the final against South Dartmoor, the Plymouth College girls bowled and batted well, fighting hard all the way before losing by just eight runs.
"This was a fantastic achievement," said Plymouth College Head of Cricket, Jonathan Mears. "The girls played really well and put in some gutsy performances. I am very proud of them."
