Music & Performance

Plymouth College pupil, Alasdair Lambie, 11 and Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Poppy Vernon, 11, will be part of the cast of Evita when the powerful musical starts its run at Plymouth's Theatre Royal next week.

Alasdair and Poppy made the cut after attending auditions at Plymkids. Both are members of the musical theatre company and will be part of a group of children performing in various scenes throughout the show. This is Alasdair's 9th production at the Theatre Royal. His first, when aged six, was also Evita.

Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Evita features some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, including Don't Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars, You Must Love Me and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.

Alasdair and Poppy will be sharing the stage with Wet, Wet, Wet star, Marti Pellow, who plays Che. The part of Eva is being played by newcomer, Madalena Alberto.
