Plymouth College Preparatory School has sponsored a Christmas tree at the Theatre Royal to raise money for the NSPCC.
The children’s charity has decorated the building with Christmas trees and garlands for the last 11 years, raising thousands of pounds through sponsorship.
This is the fifth year that the Preparatory School has taken part in the tree-sponsorship initiative and is just one of the ways the school raises money each year for the NSPCC – a recent collection at the Years 5 and 6 pantomime, and the school carol service, raised more than £500.
Headmaster, Chris Gatherer, said: “The NSPCC is one of the main charities we support as a school and it is great that we can be involved in such a visible way. It also gives our pupils and parents a real sense of pride to see our association with such a good cause when they walk into the theatre.”
