
Plymouth College’s 1st XI have had a busy and successful start to the cricket season with a pre-season win against Philanthropists, a win against Bryanston in the National Twenty20 cup as well as a win against Kelly College.
In the match against Philanthropists, Plymouth College scored 298-3 off their 40 overs – Harry Stephenson scored 100, Jake Libby 56, Jake Luffman 50 and George Stephenson 54. Philanthropists were all out for 80, with wickets going to Ollie Mulberry 4-9, Jake Libby 3-15 and Sam Cload 2-9. In the National T20, Plymouth College lost against King’s College, Taunton, and Sherborne School, before beating Bryanston by 10 runs. England U19 and Somerset player, James Burke, was 98 not out and George Stephenson 59 not out. Ed Knight took 5-5.
Kelly College were defeated by 41 runs with a top score of 35 coming from Jake Luffman and George Stephenson taking 3-30.
