Two Plymouth College swimmers, Achieng Ajulu-Bushell, 14, and Christian Homer, 17, have been selected for the World Championships in Rome this summer. Achieng will represent Kenya in the 50M breaststoke and Christian will represent Trinidad in the 50M backstroke.
Earlier this year, Achieng was named Kenya’s most promising female athlete and won gold medals at the South African Championships and the African Senior Swimming Championships. Christian previously represented Trinidad at the CARIFTA (Caribbean Championships) last month. Both swimmers are part of the Plymouth College/Plymouth Leander elite swimming programme.
Plymouth College director of swimming, Jon Rudd, will be joining the swimmers at the championships as head coach for Kenya.
