The Black Pearl, Plymouth College Preparatory School’s play pirate ship, was the perfect setting for Year 4 to perform a series of pirate-story sketches as part of a fund-raising day. Dressed in appropriate costumes, the children acted out the short plays that they had written themselves to the rest of the school.
Raising money for the senior school’s ‘Bricks for The Gambia’ appeal, the pirates also brought in a delicious array of home-made cakes to sell at break time.
Teacher, Mrs Freeman, said: “As part of their studies, Year 4 did creative writing in the Spring term. They wrote stories about pirates and this was a fun way to follow that up. They also raised money for The Gambia so I’m really proud of them.”
