A day out at the Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary was a real delight for the Year 1 classes.
Butterfly expert, David, asked the children lots of questions then took them into the big greenhouse. As well as the many variety of butterfly, the greenhouse also had ponds with koi carp and terrapins.
Next up was feeding time for the otters, where they saw Felix, who recently lost his 20-year-old partner. After lunch the children went to the playground and maze, where they had a lot of fun.
When they returned to school they wrote about their trip and drew pictures of the butterflies and otters.
