Emma Wilkins, 18, has been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Championships. Second only to the Olympics, the competition takes place in Rome at the end of July.
Achieving the highest level of swimming for a current pupil representing Great Britain, Emma qualified for the 50m freestyle at the Scottish National Championships. She will attend a preparation camp in Sardinia two weeks before the world event.
Emma will join fellow swimming scholars, Achieng Ajulu-Bushell and Christian Homer, who are representing Kenya and Trinidad respectively, at the event. Sponsored by Wilkinson, she will use the competition to gain as much experience as possible in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.
