The Plymouth College Equestrian team is continuing its successful campaign on the national stage by qualifying for the NSEA Jumping with Style Championships. Morwenna Moore, Emily Dinnis and Sammy Cotton qualified by coming second in the regional round held at Millfield School.
Out of the seven teams that entered the competition, Plymouth College was the only one to post three clear rounds, with just five time penalties between its riders. As well, the Plymouth team only had three members - teams with four riders could discard their worst score.
After style marks were added, Plymouth College accumulated 41 points, finishing second to Millfield and securing qualification to the National Championships, which are being held at Addington, Buckinghamshire in December.
In other equestrian news, Plymouth College's inaugural Schools' Team Combined Training Competition is taking place on 27th March. Run in conjunction with Foxworthy Beacon Riding Club, the event is being held at Newnham Park, Plympton.
Combined Training consists of two phases - the first round is dressage followed by showjumping for the second round. This competition is the first of its kind for schools in the South West. Further information is available from Sharon Lambie on 01752 203245 or [email protected]
