Plymouth College Under 15s carried their impressive fifteen-aside form into the sevens season by winning the Plymouth College tournament held at Delgany.
The tournament, which dates back to 1971, follows a round robin league programme and was contested by teams from Truro School, Ivybridge Community College, Kelly College, Bristol-based Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the hosts, Plymouth College.
Plymouth won their opening game against Truro (winners of last year's Under 14 competition), before going on to secure hard-fought victories against Ivybridge and QEH.
This left the team needing to secure a victory over Kelly in the final match to ensure overall victory in the competition. They managed to achieve this with a 47-15 victory, a flattering score especially after Kelly had scored two runaway tries just after half time.
