Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil and tetrathlete, Annie Crocker (10), has come away with no less than five trophies at the North West Tetrathlon held in Lancaster. She has also qualified for the national championships.
Competing in the Youth E Girls category, Annie was crowned North West Tetrathlon Champion after outstanding performances in running, swimming, shooting and fencing. She also came first in the triathlon (run, swim, shoot) and third in the biathlon (run, swim). She picked up two further prizes for the best shoot and the best fence of the competition.
Annie's achievement is all the more impressive because she has only taken up shooting, fencing and running in the last six months. She has been swimming since she was three years old.
"I am really excited to make it through to the national final", said Annie. "I didn't expect to do so well, particularly in the fencing, which I've only be doing for just over a month!"
Fellow pupil, Catherine Bishop, also aged 10, had to settle for all the 4s, coming 4th in the tetrathlon, triathlon, swim, fence and shoot.
