World Book Day saw a rather unusual event in the library of Plymouth College - it was the scene of a crime!
Years 7-9 came into the library to find a taped-off area where there was the outline of a body, a discarded backpack and a small step ladder lying on its side. Pupils had to turn detective and solve a series of clues to establish the identity of the victim and how the deadly deed had happened.
Much investigation work around the library followed, discovering, for example, the name of a boat (The Plymothian, after the old school magazine), what he (yes, it was a 'he') had been doing with the gold (smuggling, not juggling!) and finding names from the War Memorial boards.
With the crime solved, 'detectives' earned themselves merits for their shrewd work and insightful skills.
