
Plymouth College elite swimmer, Achieng Ajulu-Bushell, has won gold at the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield. The 16-year-old secured her victory in the women's 50 metre breaststroke in a time of 31.18 seconds.
Part of the highly-acclaimed Plymouth College/Plymouth Leander Swimming Programme, Achieng has just announced she is changing nationality from Kenyan to British - she has a Kenyan father and a British mother.
Last summer the talented Year 11 pupil swam for Kenya in the World Championships and won a gold medal for Great Britain in the World Schools' Games in the autumn.
Fellow Plymouth College pupil and elite swimmer, David Gregory, won a bronze medal in the men's 50m backstroke.
