It was nearly a clean sweep for Plymouth College at the Devonport Royal Swimming Association Schools Relays earlier this week, with both Senior and Prep teams winning trophies.
The Senior School took four teams of non-national swimmers, clinching the top two spots in both the boys' and the girls' races. Other schools taking part were Devonport High School for Boys, Devonport High School for Girls, Notre Dame and Plymstock.
The Prep School also had four teams competing. The girls' A team performed above expectations and not only won the trophy but also broke the meet record which has stood since 2004. The team was Tegan Drew, Lauren Hession, Sneha Suresh and Emma De Jager. Their time was 1.02.
The boys' A team came 5th, a good result considering there was only one Year 6 swimmer. The girls' young B team came 6th and the boys' B team (mainly Years 3 and 4 swimmers) just missed out on a place in the final.
