The A Level drama groups provided a skilful and thought-provoking evening when they performed their examination extracts for the moderator.  Both groups had to create their own interpretation of either an extract from a published play (Lower Sixth), or devise an original piece of theatre (Upper Sixth).  They were then also required to study a theatrical style and apply it to their piece.

The Lower Sixth group (Olivia Roper, Sebastian Slade and Rebecca Pye) was inspired by the style of the physical company, Frantic Assembly, and performed extracts from 'Crystal Clear'.  The Upper Sixth (Georgia Hall, Christy Vout and Pieter Loopstra) studied the work of the internationally-acclaimed British company, Complicité, and devised a piece called 'Frida' based on the life of artist Frida Kahlo.  Both groups created dynamic theatre that communicated the subtext and emotion of their pieces through their physical sequences.

Responsible for all direction and design decisions, the groups were supported by a very dedicated technical crew of Scott Holbien on sound, Ralph Hayes on lighting, Mayson Tam and Matthew Lok backstage, Josh Bean on projections and Harry Cobbold as technical director.
