Former Plymouth College pupil and broadcast journalist, Tim Hart, 24, returned to school recently to talk to budding reporters about his work.
With a passion for both writing and sport, Tim embarked on his career in the media after graduating from Exeter University and Cardiff Journalism School. Early jobs included broadcast assistant for Radio Devon and sports writer for The Herald. Now freelance and working for Reuters, BBC, ITV and Eurosport, Tim has covered stories such as the UK riots, the Eurozone crisis and the Rugby World Cup.
As well as a lunchtime presentation, Tim also got involved in the Lower Sixth's Personal Social and Health Education session about applying to university. Tim was able to share his own experiences of this process and offer some helpful tips on researching courses, keeping focussed and undertaking relevant activities outside of school.
"I have very fond memories of my time at Plymouth College", said Tim. "The education I received really set me up for achieving my goals. It was great to be able to come back and be of help to the current Sixth Form."
