"Plymouth College's production of Les Misérables was absolutely spectacular and has put musical theatre firmly back into the heart of the school's performing arts repertoire", reports Head of Drama, Jayne Hansford.

"The cast and crew worked incredibly hard for over four months to produce a stunning production set in France during the French Revolution. It was a sell out.

Led by Mr Tait, there were star performances throughout the show that involved pupils from Year 7 through to the Upper Sixth. Special mention has to go to Harriet Irving who played the young Cossette, Andrew Walker as Javere and Christy Vout and Seb Slade as the money-grabbing publicans the Thernadiers. Sophie Brown stole the show as Fontine and Dan Snowden returned to perform the role of Valjean with his excellent voice and stage presence. All were supported by other leads and a wonderful chorus (some of whom have not sung on stage before) and a small orchestra that worked together on this famous musical that has celebrated over 25 years in the West End.

The costumes were a real credit to Mrs Williams and the set - simplistic and stylised - was created by a vision from Mr Roberts and constructed by Becky James mostly from cardboard! Sound effects and lighting added the finishing touches to a show that had a full house standing ovation on the last night."
