Plymouth College First XV followed up last weekend's hard fought victory with another battling performance, running out narrow winners in a tight and absorbing encounter against Kings Taunton. Plymouth gained the ascendency up front with the tight five dominating their opponents at scrum time and executing some effective line out drives. However, territorially there was not much in it and Plymouth turned around at half time with a narrow 3 point lead.
The second half continued in similar fashion and with 14 minutes to go Plymouth trailed 7-6. However concerted pressure resulted in a try for the forwards and the team held on for a narrow, but ultimately a deserved win. Plymouth College 11 Kings Taunton 7.
After a slightly nervous start, it was another great display by the U15s against a physically big Stoke Damerel side in the Daily Mail Cup. Special mention goes to Joe Andrews and Tom Brooker, playing up from the 14s, who had outstandinggames.
Another two tries for Josh Westwell and two for Ewan Gare - 100% conversion rate (7/7!) for Tom Dinnis. Plymouth College 49 Stoke Damerel 14.
