
Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Ollie Smart, 10, has beaten the best in the country to become the U11 Boys' British Biathlon Champion. Ollie was second in both the run and the swim, winning overall with 2834 points.
Ollie, who swims with Plymouth Leander, qualified for the national final held in Solihul after competing in the South West round in October.
Twelve athletes from the senior school also competed in the national event, with the U16 boys' team - Myles Pillage (6th), Noah Foley (14th) and Daniel Pengelly (19th) - taking second place overall with 7088 points. Top twenty finishers included: Edward Smart 4th U13 boys; George Spencer 5th U14 boys, Kerenza Bryson 5th U16 girls, Paddy Erskine 10th U17 boys, Ella Ellis 15th U15 girls and Jonah Foley 15th U13 boys.
"We are incredibly proud of Ollie," said Plymouth College Preparatory School Headmaster, Chris Gatherer. "To be the best in the country is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted that he has put the Prep School on the national map in this way."
