The finals of the Zara Malone Creative Writing Competition and the Spoken English Competition are always memorable and entertaining evenings.

In the Zara Malone Creative Writing Competition the winners were: Year 7 - Lauren Hession (Chaytors); Year 8 - Eliza Beall (Dales); Year 9 - George Asquith (Palmers); Year 10 - Emily Williams (Dales); Year 11 - Rhianna Durbar (Chaytors); Sixth Form - David Grenfell (Chaytors). The Award for Graphic Novel went to Jakob Peel (Sargents). The overall runner-up was Lauren Hession with George Asquith (pictured) winning the Zara Malone Cup.

The Spoken English winners were: Year 7 - Jeremy Lane (Sargents); Year 8 - Tamar Shields and Bertie Ratsey (both Chaytors); Year 9 - Catherine Bishop (Palmers); Year 10 Tom Brooker (Dales); Lower Sixth - Victoria Stace (Palmers); Upper Sixth -  Phoebe Hirst (Sargents).  The overall winner was Tamar Shields with Phoebe Hirst as runner-up.
