
Tennis ace and Plymouth College pupil, Pierce Widdecombe, 13, has won two tournaments in as many weeks.
First up was a Regional Grade 3 LTA tournament in Exeter, which saw him beat the UK numbers 64 and 75 in his age group on his way to the title. He won 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
Less than two weeks later Pierce won a Grade 4 County Tour LTA event in Bodmin. His 4-0, 4-0 win in the final has propelled him to number 85 in the UK in the U14 age group.
A member of the school team, Pierce has been playing tennis since he was six years old and trains at Virgin Active Devonshire. He is coached by Dan Stuk and also trains with the Leverton Williams Tennis Academy.
