Former Plymouth College pupil and rugby star, Henry Slade, 21, didn't disappoint when he put on a senior England shirt for the first time on Sunday. Playing at Twickenham in front of 50,000 people, Henry scored 16 points for England against a star-studded Barbarians side.
A brief spell off the pitch having nine stitches in a nasty cut failed to put the England vice-captain off his stride as he went on to score a try. But despite his best efforts, Henry could not help the young England side to victory and the Barbarians took the match 39-29.
Since leaving Plymouth College Henry has been studying at Exeter University and is signed to Exeter Chiefs.
"Henry was a really good all-round sportsman at school and was involved in many different sports," said Plymouth College Head of Rugby, Richard Edwards. "His talent for rugby came to the fore in his last 3-4 years here and he was central to a very successful 1st XV who got through to the quarter-final of the Daily Mail Cup.
"Plymouth College is thrilled to watch him go through the ranks and it would be a dream to see him playing for the Lions when the school team goes on tour to New Zealand in 2017."
