Plymouth College's diving sensation, Victoria Vincent, has secured a spot on the England Diving Team at the Commonwealth Games despite her young age.

The 13 year old was initially left off the squad because of her age even though she won the senior 10m title at the recent British Diving Championships. After a successful appeal by England Diving, the Commonwealth Games Federation has confirmed her eligibility to compete - the minimum age at some international events is 14 years old but there is no such prohibition at the Commonwealth Games.

Victoria will now be joining the 16-strong diving squad, which includes former Plymouth College pupil, Tom Daley, and four other Plymouth divers.

Victoria said via Twitter: "I am glad to say that after the long appeal I've been told I can go to Commonwealth Games. Thank you @weRengland! I'm over the moon."

Team England Chef de Mission Jan Paterson welcomed the addition of Victoria to the national squad.

"I am delighted that Victoria has been included in our diving squad," said Jan. "I'd like to thank the CGF for their support in this matter. Victoria will be our youngest member of Team England and a welcome addition to our diving team."

The Commonwealth Games take place in Glasgow 23 July to 3 August.
