The children in Year 3 at Plymouth College Preparatory School have had a taste of surviving outdoors with a Forest Day in Saltram Woods.
Activities included shelter-building, fire-making, cooking marshmallows and bush craft. In addition, there were a large number of team and confidence-building games as well as lots of singing!
The aim of Forest Day is to give children experiences that enable them to appreciate and enjoy the natural world. The idea is that this encourages care and understanding of the natural environment in later life.
It was a fantastic day and everyone had a lot of fun.
