Year 8 pupils at Plymouth College were visited by marines from 42 Commando (Bickleigh) as part of the school's Personal, Social and Health Education programme.
The marines, who are all being rehabilitated from injuries sustained during Operation Herrick in Afghanistan, spoke about their experiences of the deployment, explaining why they were there and what they were doing.
As well as discussions about the mental attitude and physical fitness needed in the harsh conditions of Afghanistan, the marines also told war stories about how they got their injuries.
