As part of their study of medieval history, Year 7 students at Plymouth College have explored the attack and defence opportunities of Restormel and Launceston Castles.
The sun shone brightly on the young historians as they examined battlements, investigated ditches and analysed arrow loops. The students learned about wattle and daub construction and compared the qualities of round and square towers. The challenge was to develop a plan using limited kit and equipment to attack the castles, and then defend against their own attack.
It was a wonderful day out with a fantastic group of students - excellent ambassadors for Plymouth College.
