With the new series of 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' imminent, Plymouth College teachers took on their own version of bush tucker trials with 'I'm a teacher get me out of here'.
Raising hundreds of pounds for Children in Need, the challenges ranged from press ups into a bowl of custard, holding a cricket for a minute, being covered in baked beans to the dreaded eating a handful of mealworms. Pupils decided who would do what task by donating money into their 'favourite' teacher's bucket.
Meanwhile in other parts of the school a cake sale raised nearly £270 in 20 minutes and staff beat pupils 9-7 in six-a-side hockey. The theme for the day was onesies or pyjamas, which raised in the region of £600.
"We've had a fantastic day and everyone has really entered into the spirit to raise a lot of money for this worthy cause," said Deputy Head, Sarah Dunn. "Needless to say I was a very popular choice for being covered in baked beans!
"We won't know exactly how much we've raised until Monday but we think it's in the region of £1,500, which is a brilliant effort."
