Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil and top skier, Ted Slade, 10, has won a gold medal and a silver medal in the British Inter Schools Ski Challenge in Chamonix, France. Competing against 80 other Years 6 and 7 racers from schools across the country, Ted took the top spot in the Slalom and second place in the Giant Slalom.
The podium spots come close on the heels of his win in the Combi (Slalom and Giant Slalom) in the English Alpine Championships in Italy at half term. The season finale comes in April at the British Alpine Championships.
Last year Ted spent a term at the British Ski Academy in Chamonix. The talented skier was invited to join the academy after he was spotted by monitors during a family ski holiday. During the course of his stay he won a clutch of medals in the British, Scottish, Welsh and English Championships as well as the Inter Schools competition.
